Learning Life Skills with Apple Crisp

Group of student bakers preparing apples and other ingrediants

Students in Kim Stephenson's 6:1:2 class at Westview got in the autumn mood this week with apple crisp! They searched online for a recipe, made a shopping list, learned about safety in the kitchen and then got down to work following their recipe, preparing the fruit, measuring ingredients, and baking a wonderful warm and toasty crisp. Served up with vanilla ice cream and shared among students and staff, it was a great way to socialize and welcome fall. Can't you just smell the cinnamon? Yum!
