As we near the start of a new school year, it is important that districts have a plan in place for communication. Often, there is a gap in communication between educators and families and we need to find ways to bridge this gap. To some families, especially families of Multilingual Learners, the language that educators speak can be "Mumbo Jumbo.” Using Patricia Weinzapfel's book for educators, "No More Mumbo Jumbo”, participants will practice turning complicated communication into clear, concise, and effective communication that will help educators build relationships and trust with all families. This book is short, simple, practical, and easy to read! Please note that the work for this course is completely asynchronous and there is no in-person meeting. Participants will work at their own pace using the Schoology platform from September 20-November 5.
